What it is for

A backlinks check for the three ways a site loses its footing

Recovery starts with knowing which kind of loss you have. The link picture differs in each case, and so does the first week of work.

A penalty or a spam wave

Referring domains pile up from places you never asked for. Pull the list, sort the junk from the noise, and read our disavow myths before filing anything.

A migration that dropped links

Old URLs stopped answering and the links pointing at them went quiet. Compare the old and new domain with the migration walkthrough.

A slow bleed of lost referrers

Nothing dramatic happened, yet the count slides. Snapshot the profile every month with the recovery routine so the slope is visible.

A score that fell while traffic rose

It happens, and it is usually the maths. Our plain glossary explains DR, DA and why they disagree.

Where we fit

A cheap, steady link ledger, not a full SEO suite

Backlink Phoenix gives you referring domains, anchors, top pages and a 0-100 Domain Rating from our own crawler, at a price a rebuilding site can afford. It will not track keywords or crawl daily.

  • Good for: audits, before-and-after comparisons, monthly monitoring, replacement-link hunting
  • Not for: keyword research, rank tracking, daily-fresh crawl (Ahrefs or Semrush do that better)
  • Data refreshes roughly monthly, so last week's fix may not show yet

Your first snapshot takes one request

Replace the domain with yours and keep the output. It is the baseline every later month gets compared against.

bash
# free, no key needed
curl "https://backlinkphoenix.com/api.php?action=domain&q=yourshop.com"

# 2 credits: who links to you, 1,000 rows at most per call

How it works

From the first alarm to a measured climb

01

Freeze a baseline

Save today's overview and referring-domain list before changing anything. Without it, no later chart means much.

02

Sort what you find

Mark links as lost, junk or fine. The first-week runbook shows how to do it in an afternoon.

03

Replace what mattered

Look at who links to your rivals and not to you, then earn or ask for those few. Quality beats volume here.

04

Re-measure monthly

Our index refreshes about once a month, so compare on that rhythm and leave the daily jitters to Search Console.

FAQ

Questions from people mid-recovery

What is a backlinks check and what should it show me?
It is a read of who links to a site, from how many distinct domains, with which anchor text and to which pages. For a recovering site the useful part is the change between two dates, since a single snapshot says little. Ours starts free.
Can a backlinks check tell me if I have a penalty?
No. Only Search Console's Manual Actions report states a manual penalty, and algorithmic hits leave no label at all. A link check supplies evidence, such as a sudden pile of junk domains or a vanished set of good ones, that you weigh next to the traffic timeline.
Why is my referring-domain count lower than another tool shows?
Every crawler sees a different slice of the web, and ours is refreshed roughly monthly. Compare trends inside one tool rather than absolute counts across tools. A steady slope in either one is more reliable than any single number.
Is it worth paying for backlink monitoring while rebuilding?
Often not at subscription prices. A monthly snapshot of one site costs a fraction of a cent here, and you only pay when you run it. If you need keyword tracking too, a full suite makes sense on top.
How soon will a fix show in the data?
Expect the next monthly refresh at the earliest. Google also needs time to recrawl and reprocess links, so a gap of weeks between your change and any visible movement is normal and not a sign of failure.
Do I need a card to try it?
No. Sign-in is through a Google account, you get $100 in credit (1,000,000 credits), and top-ups later are made in USDT on the TRC-20 network from the account page.
